Synopsis
In this version of Romeo and Juliet, directed by Ed Trafton, we meet at “St. C.”—St. Claire’s Academy—where the students are hard at work on their production of school-reading-list favorite Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Not satisfied to just read it aloud, they decide to meet in their theater after hours and put the play on its feet, discovering that something written over four hundred years ago has something to say about today.
A long rivalry between the Montague and Capulet families causes tragic results for Romeo and Juliet. Revenge, love, and a secret union force the young star-crossed lovers to grow up quickly — and to commit the unthinkable in despair.
Make sure to grab the kids and bring them down to STC to catch our talented School of the Arts, Young Professional Conservatory students in Romeo & Juliet!
