Summer camp faculty includes professional theatre artists and local teachers who lead students through a diverse curriculum that is based on teamwork, confidence-building and creative expression.  ACT*DANCE*SING! Camps
1st-8th Grades

Improv., scene study, voice and movement, stage combat, theatre history, yoga, mask work, playwriting, yoga, singing, dancing and more!

Acting Camp for High Schoolers!
(9th-12th grade in the fall)
This fun, two week camp is for teens interested in improving their acting skills! Improv, Greek mask work, Shakespeare, Monologues, script analysis, television and film and scene work are just a few of the classes taught throughout the two weeks, which will culminate in a presentation at the end of the session. Musical Performance Camp for High Schoolers!
(9th-12th grade in the fall)
Do you dream of being on Glee, American Idol or the Broadway Stage? If so, this camp is for you! This fun, two week camp for teens will focus on singing and dancing and how you can stand out from other performers. Professional staff members will provide dance, voice, and acting classes to include a presentation at the end for family and friends! Don't miss out, sign up today. Meet some of our wonderful Summer Camp 2011 teachers and staff members! 


Michele Hillen-Noufer, Education Director

As Education Director, Michele oversees the Young Professionals Conservatory and the Pre-Professional Ensemble.  Michele is a member of Actors Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild and The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.  She has been working as a professional actor for 20 years doing theatre, film and television across the country regionally, internationally and in New York .  This is her fifth year as a company member at the Sacramento Theatre Company, where she has directed the Young Professionals Conservatory for three years.  Michele has directed, taught and choreographed young people for 12 years and has a passion for helping young people achieve their goals in the performing arts.  She has directed and choreographed over a dozen musicals for young people for STC, EDMT, Camp Laurel South, Music Circus Camp and local schools in Sacramento.

 
Greg Alexander
Greg has directed The Two Gentleman of Verona, A Servant Of Two Masters and The Iliad for STC’s Young Professionals Conservatory.  Additional directing credits include This Wonderful Life for Legacy Productions in Nevada City, Wit, The Golden Harp, A Year With Frog & Toad, Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business and A Christmas Story for the B Street Theatre, Every Christmas Story Ever Told for Capital Stage, Corpse! and Fully Committed for the Foothill Theatre Company.  Greg lives in Sacramento with his wife Sean, and their Westies, Milo & Magoo.


Jerald Bolden

Jerald Bolden holds a MA in theatre from CSUS and has been performing and training in musical theater since his teenage years. He feels incredibly lucky to have had access to extremely high quality education in the arts, and has thus developed a deep desire to pass along that education to today's students.  Since 2003, Jerald has taught musical theatre and dance at Sacramento Theatre’s Summer Camps. His STC credits include choreography for You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and School House Rock.  Regional credits include: Hairspray, Paint Your Wagon, Damn Yankees, Guys and Dolls and The Music Man. This summer Jerald will be performing in Oliver!, My Fair Lady, and Finian’s Rainbow at Woodminster Amphitheatre in Oakland. 


Sarah Elsner
 
Sarah is proud to wear many hats at STC but the most fulfilling has been as the Education Department's Production Manager.  She grew up participating in arts training courses herself, and is thrilled to guide, educate, and encourage young artists.  With a BA in Theatre Arts Education from San Jose State University, Sarah has found herself performing, directing, stage managing, set designing and working on the administrative side of theatre.  Most recently, she directed the Young Professionals Conservatory production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona along with fellow camp instructor Greg Alexander.
